Today's Poem

Clear Thought

The time has come for clear thought
The things we need, the things we bought
Excess has ways of catching all
But listen and hear a better call

For Christmas is a time to care
To think of loved ones, time to share
And those who need more help are there
Let's make a choice, grow more aware

Another year, a chance to learn
More need than ever as promises burn
Try harder one and all, I plea
For powerful forces come, I see

And whether friends from distant stars
Or scruffy beggars who dream of cars
Respond with love and care, my friend
For broken lives and hearts can mend

A perfect time now to reflect
On how your actions cause effect
For whether you're broke or living high
Clear thought, you'll find, you can not buy
