There were times when all I wanted was just die
Rather than stay awake each night and cry
But when he comes home and I look into his eyes
My heart hears the melody of a sweet lullaby.
I yearn to pour out all of myself to you
I feel that I bear a gift so precious and true
But the beauty and splendor of it all
Maybe ordinary and pointless to you.
My mind is in this deep and sweet turmoil
Squirming in the delight and agony of giving
Silently asking myself when to leave this shipwreck
And be that survivor come safely to harbor.
Glad you're back and safe from that shipwreck, Sheri. Well penned.

You've undoubtedly sailed rough waters, Sheri. Don't we all do? Your touching words go straight to the heart.

It is sad that sometimes we have to go through a phase in our lives where the presence of hurt needs to be endured. I am so glad that you are in your safe harbor now. A deeply moving piece, Sheri.
Love too :)

Sherri,
When we visit the distant past, or recent past, it is a reminder to us that we have healed and no longer live in that turmoil. I sometimes will write of my distant past, because I feel that some of that pain that I endured still lingers but as long as I don't dwell on it, I am safe within my present harbor.
This poem touches a place of rest within my soul. Thank you for allowing me to remember without feeling any pain.
Hello my wonderful friends, thank you so much for your support and heartwarming love and concern, i deeply appreciate and value your friendship. Please smile for me because this isn't the state i'm in right now. It was just a moment in the distant past that i wrote about. I am happy and content at this point in my life. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Oh Sheri, I am numb and feel helpless on words, but I know and understand as there was a day I felt just like this...days come and go, we grow and become stronger...I pray you find your safe harbor whatever it is...much love to you~
Christine
Dear Sheri, I was taught: "Take life as it comes. Don't say this or that way it should be, do not curse any of your days what you must bear endure. Everything that you encounter bless, and you are blessed!" I could not give you any better advice. Love Emile
The feelings aren't pointless, Sheri, they do connect, they're real and from the heart... and like Regis they make a personal connection.
Take good care.
Sheri, the first step of course is the most difficult -- a conscious decision -- after that we can again walk with our heads held high -- our hearts return to the rhythm of civility and peace -- life's journey resumes surrounded with peace and love -- hesitation seldom provides improvement or a long term solution -- only prolonged agony -- may joy fill your heart and peace accompany you -- JM
May the peace you seek come sooner, rather than later.
Cheers,
Dan

Turmoil can take it toll upon the strongest of us. All we can hope to do is smile at it and let it know it will never win the battle. You wrote this well.
Through the night on the battlefield the wounded soldier in pain will thinks just of dying, be finished with the cold solitude and then...morning comes and he hear a medic saying over his face "I found one still alive!" and know that God was still around.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
There is a German "Wisdom of Life" that goes something like this:
"Whatever your situation in life, it will change."
It's sayings like that that keep my head above water when things seem impossible and not worth struggling over.
"Authorsden" is a safe harbor that I treasure.
