I am filled with wonder as I look into your face seeing so much of myself reflected in your physical presence.
Never negating who you have become I am nonetheless stunned
By our commonality of purpose as you stretching your wings pass on to your daughter the best qualities forged by four generations.

I see your father’s emotional response to injustice followed by a fiery resolve to correct what you can at the level of your encounters.
I see so much of him in you.
Tenderness combined with strength and the whisper of self righteousness he possessed in his youth prior to his more mature spiritual growth.

I see you championing for the rights of the underdog especially when they are children and the elderly.
Most of all I see love rewarded as your dad and I in our winter years are blessed to witness your summer and your daughter’s spring.

Love is God, family and the promise of a new more humane generation to conserve and replenish the planet we call home.
And you my daughter are one step in that direction.

what an absolute treasure you are, and it just goes to show in your daughter and her daughter and so on and back forth. I love how you described yourself and your husband as winter, your daughter as summer and your grand-girl as spring. Really lends to the continuance of one life upon the next as there were many seasons going into you as well, and many more to come after. A lovely tribute on her birthday.
