Stomping out Terrorism

Our government says we are going to stamp out terrorism and flag waving becomes a fervent patriotic exercise. I love my country. I am a native born American but but there are things, symbols, and slogans which confuse me. Like does stomping out terrorism include the educational terrorist who can't teach truth because lying to the innocent among us is easier? Does stomping out terrorism mean the illness of racism will be eradicated by a cure of wisdom over ignorance. Does stomping out terrorism mean that everything you know is wrong?
Is stomping out anything real of just another illusion as hatred and ignorance is apparently a terminal illness of mankind.

"...as hatred and ignorance is apparently a terminal illness of mankind." - No, I can't believe this. Hatred is TAUGHT. Ignorance is rampant because most are lazy of body and mind. But, I still choose to believe that most people are gentle of spirit - they just don't make the news.
