spider web,
bits and pieces caught unaware,
torn and fragmented by winter's haste,
a time now passed
of what was
and, like all days since,
will fade away
again and again,
until the pull of silver threads
gives birth to remembrances
that were once true ,
so long ago,
in the cool, crisp demise
of summer,
now found in autumn's web.
