It's a struggle
turning the soil,
this earth,
bit by bit,
breaking into the
crust of many plantings,
only to discover
life thrives
through layers of decay,
filled with debris
I dare not name,
but even with
careful attention
this work is tossed about,
to plant seeds from
sunlit world
in garden of faith,
to sleep and stir in
these catacombs of earth,
so much like last year's
remains.
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
