A Long Night

It's been a long night, or
I should say morning.
I went to work
before the sun went down, and
now the sun has been up
for a few long hours, and yet
I just left work.
Back home this many hours
would be considered
two full working days.
Boy, wouldn't that be
some hellacious overtime! But,
I'm not home, and
this isn't your average job--
there isn't any overtime
at the end of this long night.

Giving Myself 'A' Reason For Going On by RickthePoetWarrior

A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.

Born in Salt by T. Weber

In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
