The light, almost faded
on the shores of the sea.
The waves, almost motionless
tossled by the restless breeze.
The night, not yet present
checked by the distant sun.
The ships, in the harbour
cradled by sleeping waters.
Tailing the last flicker of light
appear traditional Polynesian boats
gently riding the surf to the shore--
scarcely visible as darkness falls.
