I've come back
once again
to my favorite hole
and tree-lined space.
This isn't a race
to write
to think
to ponder deep.
It's a time to reflect
and write as long as I can
until the words cease.
However long,
whenever it comes,
my silent pen
dictates me
and tells me when to stop.
As I said
it isn't a race
but a chance to trace
the words that tumble out
at my favorite place--
this tree-lined space
with a slower pace.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
