Pinching nickels and dimes--
These are difficult times.
When going out
On a Friday night
Consists of gathering up
All of our change
So that we can
Buy a candy bar for dessert
After we walk around the store.
It's kind of amusing
And it's kind of sad
But it's not all that bad.
At least the water's free
And the garbage too.
We won't be making
Any long distance calls
For a long time to come
But it could be worse
And we have a roof
Over our heads.
But, we are pinching nickels and dimes
In these difficult times.
