string of thought

over the hills and into the stream my unconsciousness dreams a string of thoughts in fits and chills that trek along the bedrock paths and blue jay songs and restless fish who flit and splash dodging hooks and angler's arcs until my thoughts veer off from the stream and into life awaking with a cough brought on by hilly dust and dreamer's luck until i'm stuck in reality's muck

I've recently been reading a great deal of Rod McKuen's works... he writes this way often.. the spacing.. easily understood..
