There are so many writers and aspiring writers in the world
that sometimes, I wonder if I'll ever make it in this field.
What distinguishes writers and aspiring writers from the throngs?
What little abilities add up to make a viable difference?
And, how do writers and aspiring writers get to the next level?
Sometimes it seems like a dauntless, grizzly task.
Other times I get the feeling that I'll really make it--
that someday I'll write the next great "American" novel.

We all have to make a living and not all of us by writing
but, I would like to earn enough royalties to write only.
Yet, I have a lot of work and distancing to do before then
and even then, who is to say that I'll be good enough?
Perhaps only time, work, and practice can say!
