Cupid is a tiny fairy who carries a bow and arrows around on Valentine's Day. She plans to take a holiday this year from her regular Valentine's Day routine. But, she doesn't get a chance to take her holiday because she catches the flu. She is too weak to enjoy her holiday. Poor Cupid has to stay home in bed and take medicines. Cupid falls asleep and has a nightmare about how Valentine's Day would be without her.

Shirley and Frank are both seniors at McSwain High School. They always sit together at lunchtime in their lovey, dovey way. A girl in a tight sweater walks past their lunch table.

"Frank, did you hear what I said?" asked Shirley.

"Yes," answers Frank while gawking at the girl.

"I said that our anniversary is Valentine's Day" she repeats to him as she pulls his eyes back around to her.

Frank just turns his head around to look at the girl again. This time the girl stops to bend over and pick up her pencil. Her skirt was so short that you could see her gym shorts. She turns and looks back at Frank and laughs. She walks on down the hall.

"Yes, yes, that will be fine, honey," he answered in a none caring voice.

Shirley gets up from the table and picks up her belongings. As she turns around and looks at Frank. She takes off the necklace he bought her for Christmas, throws it at him and runs off.

"If you want to know where I am, just ask the other guys if they have seen me" she said as she stomps off.

"Shirley, what did I do? he asks her as he runs in behind her.

"You don't care how I feel?" she said tearfully. She begins to sob and leaves quickly.

Cupid wakes up in a sweat. She can't bear to know that this couple is not in love any more. She starts to go into this lingering cough.

First, Cupid takes two Tylenols and drinks a glass of water. Then she grabs her bow and arrows and flies on her way to save the couple's love.

When she arrives, Shirley and Frank are sitting back to back on two separate benches. Cupid sees them and immediately takes out her bow and an arrow.

"Maybe I'll get a chance to spend my holiday in Florida next year" she thinks to herself as she aims the arrow at Frank.

Cupid shoots the arrow at Frank but it misses him because she has to sneeze.

He hops up off of the bench and takes a couple of steps as if he were in a deep wonder.

"Oh no, I missed. I just can't mess this one up" thought Cupid.

Cupid flies over and stands on a bush right in front of Shirley. She pulls out another arrow and shoots it right into Shirley's heart. Shirley begins to laugh wildly as she walks over to Frank. She plants a big kiss on him.

"I'm sorry for acting so insecure before, Frank," she told him.

Cupid shoots another arrow at Frank that lands in his heart. He just grabs her and kisses her again.

"I don't know what I was thinking. I have the lady of my dreams right here with me" Frank professes as he leans over to Shirley, "Valentine's Day will be just fine with me," he whispers into Shirley's ear.

Cupid smiles as she watches the couple kiss and make up. Cupid pulls out her handkerchief and blows her nose. Not because she's happy but because her nose is running. She whips out her sinus medicine and sniffs it into her nasals.

"Well, another Valentine romance saved" she said as she breathes a sigh of relief.

"I don't want to see you ever again" screams a young man's voice from the nearby beach.

"Oh no" she said as she reaches for another arrow.

Cupid turns quickly with a look of surprise and reaches for another arrow. She flies off to save yet another Valentine Day love. It seems that Clyde has just caught his love of two years lying on the beach with another guy.

"Aa-choo" sneezed Cupid as she blows herself backwards.

"Oh dear me, I think that I will let someone else handle this one".
