Joyful Solitude

I admit it, I like my privacy.

Joyful Solitude Push open the windows, fling wide the drapes, Let the sunlight flood in on my freedom! I dance in the living room, pirouette in the hall, Take a bow before the two quizzical dogs. Our house is silent, no real noise but my own A keyboard madly clicking, the computer’s soft hum. Today, there is time for ME, me alone with the mutts Tomorrow too, unfettered, unwatched, untasked. Longer than that, well, yes, that might be lonely, But today, oh, today is beyond lovely. Eileen Clemens Granfors, April 2008
