Beauty is where you find it. . . just look! Sometimes LA overwhelms me, but my dog walks bring me joy.

A California Morning I saw the mustard plants waist high, And a burst of golden poppy flowers. The bounty made my heart lurch, Seeing such horizontal, fragile towers. The cry of a quail quivered through the air. Hatchlings marched in a precarious row. The mother strutted as mothers will, Pride and joy bobbing to and fro. A fresh breeze scattered essence of lilacs, The bush a chapel of luxurious scent. Spring in the air, in the sights, in the sounds, A morning walk, time well spent.

How beautiful and frangrant the colorful flowers are! Used to love those early morning walks in California, especially those along the shoreline....
