The road I thought was straight has turned
so many lessons have been learned,
though shadows moving quicker still
have drained the last of strength and will.
Yet days still run their course the same
the heart still fanning tired flame,
the hills, the valleys seem to call
while years spill fast, some days still crawl.
It’s I, who tired now does see
the life I thought was sure to be…
perhaps forever slipped away
while darkness settled in to stay.
The ticking time-bomb in my head
so loud the noise could raise the dead,
when all I wish for is to hear
sweet silence falling on my ear.
The circles spiral round and round,
what’s lost is never truly found…
just rearranged and made to shine
but never really, truly mine.
Yet as I live and breath I try
to learn from every tear I cry,
to find the message meant for me
that I may live as I should be.
There is nothing wrong with tears. They are clensing and should not be held back. Too many men think they cannot cry, when they should also. My neighbor was crying today cause her daughter in Flo is in hospital dying of Emphysema, and having a rough time without her Mother. Always there is reason to cry to let out our feelings.
Well, Melissa, I certainly have not been around here much in the past few years but I am trying to catch up a little & sought out some of your inspiring work to reinspire me. I will have to raid your den to see what you have been up to.

Ah, Melissa, you have perfectly drawn in words what so many feel!! Are you our soul-sister, our heart-sibling? A perfect rendition of what life is often like, but with ever-present hope that the meaning may be seen. Beautiful!!
