It’s in these seasons of duress
When everything is slightly bent…
That we must face the butcher’s block
To meet our fear with true intent.

We should embrace the tender tears
That soaks the skin within the night…
To free the soul of prison barbs
Wound tightly ‘round our present plight.

For inside shadows, currents flow
Eternal through the heart and mind…
Within the dimness we must fight
To find our way when eyes are blind.

When darkness falls across our path
To weave the chains that binds our feet…
Though we may stumble, fall, or crawl,
We do not have to taste defeat.

It’s dignity we can retain
Regardless of these scars we wear…
While others seem to have it all,
We each one have our cross to bear.

Though some will fade beneath the weight,
Stand tall and face each moment’s toll…
Forgetting not each puzzle piece,
Is merely one part of the whole.
