To the Brink...

I’ve been….

            to the brink
            of the stream

I’ve felt the river of love
in my hands~
            and I drank, deeply,
            until I was filled

I’ve been…
            to the edge
            of the crust

I’ve tasted the manna
of life~
            and I ate,
            until I was full

I’ve been…
             to the rim
            of the canyon
~and felt the whisper of wind in my hair~

I’ve been…
            lifted above
            the vast expanse
                        feeling weightless
with the ~wings~ of a dove

I've been…
            to the very perimeter;
            teetered upon its precipice~
and felt the warm embrace of the sun,
                        as the darkness faded away

I’ve been…

            But I continue~

                        as I am…

This is good. I am not surprised of course. But I loved the end "I've been..but I continue as I am." Sometimes I get frustrated when I see the possiblility of change, and yet ..I still do the same things in the same way. You know how we climb and then plateau, and keep that pattern instead of a steady climb, becoming better and better. I am grateful we all have free agency so we can choose to improve. I hope next time there is a brink, rim, edge or whatever, I will remember this poem and Change for the better. Love ya!

... There and back again, Cryssa. You have certainly effectively conjured the headiness of coming to those brinks... and not falling, instead being changed and yet returned to your "normal" state. I love the sense of the epiphanic within the day-to-day situation. A thoughtful piece, thank you. Kate xx

Very nice write. You're one of my favorites... {:o]%%%--; You have been to the brink/edge/ridge/perimeter, haven't you. That's the way to live a full-to-bursting life.

You're one of my favorites in the world. Thanks for holding me up, when I almost fell over... (so many times) --Charlie

A Life fully lived and tasted at the edge.. a very spiritual feel to this piece...There is also freedom and reward in the daring...
teetered upon its precipice~
and felt the warm embrace of the sun,
as the darkness faded away

Very nicely written and has a duality to it. It can be either a spiritual journey or a romantice one. ~ Sara
