For the love of my life...

Nineteen years ago this week
you sang a song to me,
and asked if I would be your wife,
as I sat upon your knee.

My heart with anxious rhythm said,
“I would love to have this dance!”
and thus began our melody--
in which you still hold me entranced…

The softest whispers from your mouth
still cause my heart to trill with joy
when I hear the gentle cadence
that your tender tongue employs.

The mellowness within your soul
draws my core to you.
It makes my heart with gladness sing
and answers, “YES!” anew.

The softness of your voice belies
the richness of your timbre
that lends a gentle strength to me,
and helps me to remember

that your love for me is real
and always will remain--
an echo of my love for you,
like a beautiful refrain.

And when you place your hand in mine…
it strikes a chord in me.
The resonance within your tune
creates a symphony.

The pieces of our hearts
meld in perfect harmony--
creating beauty with their tones
of musicality.

This is hauntingly beautiful! It seemed that I heard a song in the background as I read........."Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed....." Remember that one? Your harmony is enchanting.
