Raining Blessings from Heaven

My heart is full as I watch the miracles in Haiti unfold... The many children I have loved are FINALLY coming home to their adoptive parents.

Precarious

the hold

they have

upon the land I love.

Foundations quaked;

lives changed,

but blessings rain

from heaven…

Amidst despair

and agony

the light

is shining strong.

Though tenuous

the grasp on life;

blessings rain

from heaven

Mindful of

our grief

and pain

He opens wide the heavens

and poureth out His miracles--

It’s raining…

raining… raining…

raining blessings from heaven…

God is not dead

nor doth He sleep!

He bringeth good

from trials.

Though sorrow binds my heart in grief

for loss of loved ones, dear;

I will sing His praises too

as blessings pour from heaven

From crumbled

rubble

lives they pull

and give them living water…

and orphans long ab-sent from mothers

are finally going home!

My tears of joy are flowing…

flowing like blessings from heaven.

Somehow I missed that you had written this, Cryssa, although I've been gone a lot, too. In the intervening time, the earthquake happened, and my hope is that you continue to count the blessings, as you do in this poem, even though they are coupled with tragedy. God always blesses, as you sing in this offering, and your own beauty in a world of need shines through..........Jerry

Beautiful words of courage and inspiration, Cryss. Though many of us are shocked and heartbroken of the catastrophe in Haiti, it is also inspiring to see people from all walks of life all over the world gather and give their time, resources, love and prayers for the victims and those left by loved ones, just like "rain of blessings from heaven". Very timely inspirational poem indeed. Blessings to you too.

Love,
Sheri

So glad they've come home. I'm sure there are many more miracles yet to come, as family members, separated, reunite again. --Charlie
