Everywhere I look it seems like somebody trying to hold my people down

After years of rejection & miseducation I sometimes wonder how we smile

I look around and see all the pain that’s been inflicted

Thinking what can I do to heal all the men women and children

I look at how so many others have tried standing tall making sacrifices

All in the hopes of trying to rectify this

They helped many, touched lives, prepared ways

But it saddens me that as many people that try to redeem us

Just as many if not more try to keep us enslaved

And not all have been set free

We still live in an age of modern day masters and slaves

Because no matter how much time passes mentalities haven’t changed

And people deny that it exist because it doesn't look the same

Telling me it’s all in my head

But you can’t tell me how I feel if you haven’t walked a mile in my skin

It angers me that it’s taken the murders of innocent young brown men

At the hands of white skin to get our attention

When the brown on brown crime in our communities has been going on

And for so long but we dead the issue

If we don’t have decency for our own how can we expect them to

I hope you’re really listening and now that I have your attention

I need you to see what’s really going on

That these are the end times and we haven’t begin to see what’s coming

And if we don’t stand tall together now where is the hope for us?

There is no one easy solution and there are no quick fixes

And when violence begets violence we only intensify the friction

And to just keep silent is doing nothing for the safety of our children

We have to get to the root of the problem and not focus on the symptoms

We need to get the truth spread t as fast and far as we can speak it

Delivering healing to the soul and giving minds new perspective

Knowing that God’s Word is the only truth that is relevant

Understand that what we’re fighting isn't even people

It’s not about color or an unjust system

The devils on the loose and our minds are his playground

And without truth we fall victim

See he preys on unprotected minds trying to coax them to submission

Don’t you realize that our minds are the only place the enemy can exist in

Planting seeds that manifest into spirits of fear and hate

Doubt and judgment

And every negative thing that contradicts God word, but

We have the power to spread truth that can save our lives

But we stay silent and turn our heads

Because for so long we've been taught to mind our own business

Yet Gods Word tells us do something completely different

He says to love thy neighbor and spread my Gospel to the world

To keep Him first and above all and He’ll supply your every need

Cause He made this world. It. all. belongs. to. Him. 

Yet we live in a world where money is the thing most worshiped

The mentality has even reached the churches

Because the devil has tricked people into believing

It can provide more than what Jesus life purchased us

Are we going to follow Gods truth or keep living in tradition

That has kept us bound in world full of division

Spreading a mentality created to destroy our existence

I really hope that you listen

Don’t let the media distract you and keep you ignorant

As I write these words I know all won’t believe it

Some minds are closed and many hearts won’t receive it

But I've shared a piece of truth to anyone taking the time to truly listen

And maybe if you too speak up with the truth

You can reach someone I didn't
