Gifts,from,where and whom?

Magenta streaks pierce the ebony cloak of darkness

evoking the sun's might in dawn's conspiracy

to reveal a sleepng earth and sky with first light

unparalleled is the majesty of this grant

for not the light of a million

nay, a million, million blazing fires

could this feat, accomplish

a subservient moon hastily retreats

galaxies are banished 'til dusk summons again

dew is aroused, shaken from the flora

not 'til e'en is reformtion permitted

on this matter the sun has spoken

wings bare of feathers beat

in spurious flight patterned for withdrawal

caves now abuzz, bats exchange nocturnal tales

owls perch in mornings' silence, no screech uttered

eagles and hawks have assumed rule of the airways

act one, scene one, rules this moment of day's procession

earth wears her new wardrobe in serene elegance

this is not the sequence of circumstance

but the ritual of design by divine providence

in the only posture befitting of a response

I kneel, skyward look

and give my soul's praise

for that which has been orchestrated

unparalleled events

unparalleled gifts

why, why, why, why, why

Jon - wonderful images of the beauty of nature. Gifts we too often ignore. Loved the ending. We can often explain "how" but the eternal question is "why?" - David

A lovely thought, Jon, with the age-old question.
But, as usual, what impresses me the most, my friend,
is the beauty of the writing. -gene.
