A 1990 poem. I don't remember it's inspiration. One of my favourites though.
The beacon shon so brightly Why couldn't it be seen It's kept polished and intact It was like no other beam It stood tall and confident It had seen more than most It stood it's ground more than once It was a compliment to it's host It flashed in all directions Never settling for long Though it was a flash of brillance It was sold for just a song. �

We are all beacons in this life. Someone is always watching us wherever we go and we should set a good example to others by letting our lights shine out from us and passing joy on to others though our beacon too.
