You Can’t Stop Loving Them!

You love someone so much from the time they are born,

You then find out they’re gay and you are so torn.

You’re soul cries out that it couldn’t be true ,

But your heart tells you it is and these feelings are new.

You’re disappointed, hurt and angry with them.

Thinking they could change but you feel it’s so grim.

You hope that life could go back before you knew,

When you didn’t know their secret and it wasn’t true .

But here it is and you can’t run away.

You still see them as they were, tiny at play.

You can’t stop loving them so don’t even try,

Their secret can’t erase the apple of your eye.

I’m sure you wish that this wasn’t so,

But is and that’s that, so just let it go.

Keep loving them like you had done before,

Or you will lose them forever; they’ll walk out the door.

Pray for them, for their lives will be rough,

Give them your shoulder when things get tough.

You can’t stop loving them so don’t even try,

They’re in your heart ‘til the day you die.
