Named After Me?
Do you remember Bonnie Braids, Dick Tracy’s little girl?
With two plaits on her tiny head and a bang with a small curl.
Ideal made this adorable doll and called her Bonnie too,
For sure she was named after me, even though I’m Bonnie Lou.
I knew for sure Bonnie Braids, was named after me,
'Cause after all, when the doll was sold, I was already three.
How important I thought I was when Mom brought her home.
I felt she was my sister and I no longer felt alone.
I still have that very doll which is encased in glass.
I put her in a china cabinet hoping she would last.
I look at her most everyday and childhood memories flow.
I promised I’d always remember her, even if I’d grow.

I know a women in her forties, still called "Kissy" after the Kissy Doll, although her name is Mary Ann. Thanks for all the memories.

Seriously, Bonnie sounds like a cuddly Teddy bear, or a soft stuffed Kashmir doll that a toddler will hold against the face going to sleep.
Nothing wrong to saddle a child with a Bonnie, I know one that was named Corky...and the teasing will be...............
