“I’m Called Little Buttercup”
Oh, how I love to dance since I was a wee little gal.
I would dance alone sometimes or I would dance with my pal.
My pal went to dancing school but I couldn’t afford to go.
So Dale would teach me all she learned, fast dancing and some slow.
We put on shows in her garage and charged admission at the door.
We sang & danced our little hearts out, all around the floor.
I wore the cutest costumes that Dale no longer could use.
She was my best friend forever, and we both looked cute in tutus’
“I’m Called Little Buttercup” was my favorite dance of all time.
I can still hear the music; I can still hear the rhyme.
There is nothing like childhood when you have a best pal.
Especially one like mine, ‘cause she was quite a gal.
She gave me the love for dancing that lasted through the years.
I will never forget her for sharing her love, dance and tears.

Another thing that happens when I read these childhood poems, is that I think of something I myself should write about, as you remind me of experiences in my own past.
How nice to have a friend who shares her own good fortune with you!
Love, Connie
Beautiful, to have a friend like this through the years - well done!
