The Hatred of Love

Poem Artwork

You made promises
I knew you would never keep,
as words spilled upon the page,
a duel edged sword,
piercing my heart to say,

"I hate loving you!"

Feelings surge
trembling my frame
with anger over the shame,
the fingering pointing
and the cruelty of
you slandered my name,

"I hate loving you!"

Then you whisper
out of the clear blue
"marry me."

I whisper softly from my heart,

"I hate loving you!"

Wonderfully done Tracey.
I can relate so well, as it seems that love can also bring such misery. The other day, I heard someone say "There's more to life than love." In response I said if you live without it long enough, you realize that's ALL there is.
