Realization

 

As I sit by waters edge

Calmness fills my soul

Concerns are washed away

With each wave that leaves the shore.

 

As I gaze upon the mountains

I realize how small our world of self is.

If the billions of trees can thrive together

Why, I ask, can't humans do the same?

 

As I lay upon the soft green grass

A deep blue sky absorbs my being.

I thank the clouds as they float past me

For they take with them my selfish cells.

 

They say “Take time to smell the roses”,

I say “Take time and allow nature to do its magic”.

For if we allow ourselves the understanding

We will be as God intended.
