cheesy little 2-minute write - trying to bring myself out of writer's block. Inspiration has pretty well run dry :o)

The moon has cast a final, pale shadow
illuminating the monsters I’ve yet to know.
In the darkness of shade, something waits...
Tapping fingers until it sees Hell’s gates.
It grows impatient...eyes starting to light
to become two dim beacons in this night.
Teeth so sharp, they would cut time in half...
It wants to take me...It wants to take me back.
I’ve escaped from Hell and it has come to claim
this lost soul. This beast knows my name.
Highway traffic pounding by, unaware of my plight
as I step into the darkness of this hot summer night.

(Yeah, it's a little unfinished, eh?)  :o)

Maybe unfinished, Lori; but I don't know. It seems to come from your soul and that's what got me wrapped up in your verses. Thank you. Love and peace to you. Regis

Hi Lori,
I would say that no work is cheesy or little when it comes from the heart. I think you captured this topic and the spirit that you are in quite well, however I think there should and will be a follow up to this when the inspiration strikes you.
Hang in there,

Felix

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!

Kind A SLOw In The Kootenays v2.2 by RickthePoetWarrior

Has-beens and coffee get together to recreate a same old new tourist trap in a land even the First Nations don't want.
