In Memory of Virginia Friend
Lifelong friend & mentor
Passed away 2-7-06
Last night, a life was lost and slipped through the fading crack
that each soul is destined to traverse sometime along its path.
Wrapped within the warmth of twilight, she ventured further on
to leave her ailing world behind her. We awoke to find her gone.
No more suffering traces her brow. No more pain within her heart.
No more agony nor struggling...no more endings, only a new start.
There is a light now shining through the crack of life’s thick wall
luring her into its embrace. No more tears shall ever fall.
I’ll miss her in this lifetime - I have known her for so long.
She encouraged all my dreams and understood my wrongs.
I hope that she’s at peace now - rest, your work on Earth is through.
Go you now, Virginia... I will forever remember you.
My heart and sympathy are yours dear friend at the loss of one you so obviously loved and cared about so much. At least as your lines suggest she is out of the misery of her bodies earthly pains.
She is at peace now...and I hope through the writing of this poem you are too. A beautiful tribute.

It is so wonderful to have those mentors in our lives. Sometimes they are there for just a moment, others are there for the long haul. Angels all. Beautiful tribute, Lori.
