Written about a horrible slaying that took place on Thursday, June 1, 2006 in Indianapolis

The traffic has gone silent - the streets are dead and dark.
Strangers smiling wanly a hello, half wrung from their heart.
Three generations lost in moments that made Fate shutter...
What started as a robbery lead seven souls from this Earthly matter.

East side Indianapolis - atrocities number more than a few
but this was the worst in history on Hamilton Avenue.
Some drug in from the front porch just as returning home.
Children shot execution style - final moments frightening and unknown.

Seven family members gone...taken...perished in the blink of an eye
on that quiet street...not a moment to spare for a single goodbye.

A funeral service held today with six caskets lined in a row.
A neighborhood sobbing for the people God now Knows.
They ask for us to remember all lives are not lived in vain
even though sometimes those lives are filled with pain.

Seven people lost - no money found - their lives whisked away.
Hamilton Avenue...quiet Hamilton Avenue....still shaking today.
