I had written this poem when I was in high school.
As I gazed across the water,
I saw peace embrace the land.
While I dreamed a little further,
I held happiness in my hand.
We are all but roaming waves
crashing to nd from out the sea.
We are all but wandering tides;
forgetting what was meant to be.
As I gased beyond the river,
I saw happiness there once more.
Yet, I know my soul's forgotten
for here I am, a rock upon the shore.
Maybe someday I'll be cast there
where the waters touch the sky.
Somewhere acros the water
is where we go when we die.
As I gazed across the water,
I saw an angel standing there
and this small, lonely pebble
joined the ocean of Despair.
We are all but rocks and pebbles
resting on Life's receding shore
and as we gaze across the water,
we dream a life we had before.
When the tides return to take us
somewhere beyond the water's crest-
we gaze beyond the forest
unknowing what is best.
