lamenting all the sweet might have beens.
Blow out that candle and erase that sign.
You were not there in trying times.
Stop the false parades of charitable cause
when staring at a crash is Nature's law.
You're all talk and fire when the path is clear
and simply a ghost of a friend when danger is near.
Suicide prevention... ah, you say that after the fact!
"We had no clues or signs of how they would act!"
Oh, but sweet world, the clues were all right there.
Crying out...weeping...you did not, then, care...
This world is callous and evil hell bent
praying for the souls all now heaven sent.
Wearing our little ribbons to remember someone lost.
You had your signs, their burdens were such cost.
What is so wrong with reaching out and helping Man
regain their footing on life's cliff and be whole again?
Why turn your blind eye to the train's engineer?
Because this world thrives on death and fear.
It grins with blood dripping from its bottom lip.
Like rubies, it glistens as though jeweled kissed.
Bloodlust gleaming in the corner of one's watching eyes.
We watch daily news hoping that somebody dies.
I've reached my lowest, I now know no more.
I'm either at heaven's or hell's own thick door.
I cried out for help for others to maybe hear.
But I still cry alone. There was never anyone here.
Very good for four minutes. Yes very dark. Edgar Allan Poe wrote that way. And he died at 29. But his world was much more dangerous and dark than ours.
But you are right, we crave blood and gore. While world statistics show that blood and gore is being replaced by lovers and flowers, many of us are in a dark place and have to have our daily fix of gore from our news. And then we go to movies, play video games and watch television where gore has become a staple of excitement. Some live out their fantasies that they find in these devices by dressing up and acting out. When they get serious, it can end badly like suicide or mass murder.
