"Reflection Of The Spirit"
by Maggie Oster
She be barren
A vertical log
Filled with moths
If only she believed would
grant her dreams
When she sees….him
Horizontally….in a modest plea
He says….
“Hay baby, I am only a man
I can not make-up
For his plan….but I can love you”
she run as fast as she can, taking flight
if only she had known she just might’
if only had she known she would have just might
with her back turned
and eyes crying bright
she says….
“Have you ever ran barefoot
over glass filled clouds
winds bearing angels
singing loud
The Lords Prayer?
days where rain waters
brought an uncertain pain
not from birth
through gain
and you bear it?”
for she know the strength
of an Eagles hold
for she tasted a peace
that know one else has known
the serenity, the principles
of her a gift from mother
he sees all the glory to be
and with tender ~ kindness
he kneels at her feet
she opened so free
givingly
(he whispering)
“baby I am
only a man
I can not make-up for
his plan
but I can love you”
The blood of her feet
carries through to the sea
and garden her green
where she seen
lake placid
reflecting the world around it
he opens being meek
allowing spirits to speak
Freely
his school comes from
Constellation rule
and the element of
numbers
where she is the double of perfection
……………..minus one
where he will give his compassion
and protection
honoring the sum
even though he knows
she just don’t know
nothing’….bout the way she glows
(he presses on)
baby my sweet baby
I am only a man
I can not make-up for his plan
but I can love you
She sees love and
believes him to be…. Death
Calm dead
she sees past her
past lives
as her mind perceives love
“the disease” spreads
meeting, hugging, kissing,
loving, lying, crying, leaving, dying
bleeding, slow painful
He….
and her steps deepens
and her bodies screaming
cause she needs him~~~~~
he is what her ancestors dreamed
he is the breath she breathes
he shakes the sky
making the clouds cry
and her blood is in which his seed
travels
and he say baby
I am only a man
(my other half’s supreme)
I can not make-up for his plan
(am I really what you have dreamed?)
but I can love you
(please love me, love me please)
Now she is iris leaves
In the spring
running inside of a New Orleans breezes
his head lies at her trunk
he is her rock, “the one”
where they be in harmonious unity
where he be……watching her flowers
singing
The Lords Prayer…………..
At first I was hesitant, in the beginning of this read; then, I found its rhythm, beat, and flow . . . even read it twice more to make sure
I understood the feel. Oh the feel! Thank You for this write.
This Mitzi is outstanding verse filled with exciting images that only a master poet like yourself could muster...beautiful work.

This is such an outstanding and poetic poem so much evolves in your verses emotions and expression.

days where rain waters
brought an uncertain pain
not from birth
through gain

Mitzi...this is awesome!
What I found most penetrating about these verses (aside from some
really brilliant metaphors) was the repitition of: "I am only a man..."
The rythym in this is really good!
Beautiful portrait of desire and desire fulfilled. Intertwined voices of the narrator with that of the characters pull the readers deep inside both the action and the "truth reflecting" emotion of the piece. Extremely nice write.
Mitzi you paint the words like no one else an
impassioned masterpiece with traces of wistful
longing so painful and the dream is not yet real
but still hoped for...

Twice I've read this. Well it is 05:30 am..
To her he is an egnima, "is he for real" kinda thing.
One feels her longing.
Excellence With the images. Like how the flow changes pace.
