*Ow baby da sun don't won't to go down on us
and it feels so good
da moon hiding in dust
cloaked mesh/linen
Ow baby I am swimming in your sweat
shivering in agony
Ow baby I must confess
dat dis dancehall scene is no better place to be
hold on baby it is such a bumpy ride

Poem Artwork

Music loud

  Tangled with smoke

Not that cancerous smoke

Not that smoke that got you choking

Our bodies collide in agony

Faces twisted….that dancehall

Got our bodies colliding in agony

Crying

Spilling all over us both

And we be mellow

Like that shade crushing in our veins

We be like banging

Smeared paint inside a colleague of faces

Colliding in sweet agony

Sun went down screaming

Just got happy heating the air

Just got good and comfortable being there

He went down screaming

Steaming

And we be like fire

Blazing and colliding

With twisted faces

We be like grinding into each other

Hot

Smeared like paint into a sea of faces

I know I hear the morning birds singing

I know I smell the fresh air of a sun left dreaming

…of our bodies

shadow and dust

working baby and grinding

dancehall walls still screaming

like the sun

like our bodies in agony

Oh God know….I must be dreaming

We be like twisted in reality

Twisted colliding in agony

With that dancehall music still loud

Still crying out in agony

I done smoked too much

I done got mellow

   Too too mellow

Smoke and ashes

And ashes and smoke and ashes

Made my glasses cloud

With the sun screaming so loud

And we done made it rain in here

Hot wetness raining our bodies

Screaming in agony

……. “Oh Precious Lord”

(that devil music)

got my body quivering with energy released

hit that knob

hit them switches

blown out candles (more smoke and ashes)

I wipe your shadow off my shower walls

Cause morning done brought me back to life

Back to reality

No offense intended when I describe this as an ass-kicking remix of soulful rhythm and harmonious passion. Exquisite flow of shifting tempo and temperature. Enjoyed the treat of the poem's beat.

We be like banging
Smeared paint inside a colleague of faces
Colliding in sweet agony...

So many lines in this writhing write that are just sheer ELECTRIC, Mitzi, and the imagery and energy draws me in and sets me fizzing and no mistake. I could jive to this one all night long and am loathe to leave... your passion is catching... and I just LOVE to dance... alone or with others, this girl just GOTTA!! :)) So colourful and action-packed, an explosive canvas that bursts off the page. Love the finale in the shower, too - soooo refreshing! TY Kate xx
