What's Forever

shaking I hold out my hand to you
you ask me for forever
you say you will always treasure
and I know I heard this before
a chill runs up my arm
and down my spine
my soul is locked onto your eyes
and you don't blink
you don't give me time to think
of the nights I couldn't breath
of the nights of tricks he held-up
..................his sleeve

you walked me through my life
and painfully I cry
without you there
if you weren't here
I know I would of died
you walked me through my life
and you still love me
all my bruises and scars
dissappeared in your arms
and you still think I am beautiful

shaking I am so afraid to trust
even though I have love
even though you have given me love
even though you have shown
you are not him
you ask me for forever
and I don't even know if forever exist

so relate, so open, honest..pored that amazing heart and soul into it...yes, Mitzi, I... don't know either about "forever", and as Woman Words said the 'agony of the question, and the fear and yes, so perfectly expressed...you write with everything...you give it all, powerfully...and maybe this one just so hits home for so many, y'know?
thank yo for this and for so, so much more...I so very much respect and admire you, so, and this is partly why...you just give it all within and you awe and humble, too...sorry, don't mean to sound syrupy, this one, felt it and you just write so well!!!!!

This I will say; your passionate poetry does play upon the very effigy which poetry reflects within the written word, it dazzles mine eyes and ears and makes my soul grow so very deep! You truly know how to send your persona through miles of live wire! A very exceptional piece, very artistic!

A good illustration of the fear involved with learning to love and trust at the same time after having been hurt. I don't know if forever exists either...at least for me anyway...

Well, Mitzi...either way you go will still wind up the same...slow or fast forward. Love and trust are a destination that will sooner or later have an arrival time. At least if you go slow you can enjoy the scenery along the way. Excellent work.
