Gardens have been many things over the years, each with important meaning. It is our duty to make of ourselve a garden of faith for we are the seed of the Father.

In the garden of Eden we suffered great loss,
and life, as we knew it, ended.
Innocence was lost as well as our freedom,
and yet in our exile God promised us hope.

For we see in Gethsemane the garden of love
where God offered his son as the lamb,
sacrificed for us as a promise fulfilled –
Jesus, our savior, nailed high on a cross.

From the empty tomb sprung a garden of life –
Death overcome and the stone rolled away –
Christ revealed and hope renewed
for a life eternal in his garden above.

So consider the beauty a garden holds
each time you are able to walk there.
Open your eyes to its promise,
and feel the hope, love, and life
contained in each seed, bud and flower.

Then make of yourself a garden of faith.
Keep tilling and working the soil.
For the Master Gardener still lives today
and we are the seeds He has planted.
