They knew that we have loved each other,
They could see how hard it was,
But none of them would ever bother
To understand the two of us.

They tore this love to many pieces,
Shared the little souvenirs
And kept the crumbs of our kisses
And the fragments of the years.

They know details and they discuss
The words you say, the things I do...
The noisy crowd has stolen us
And spread the story like a flu.

So now I hear your poignant name
The others shoot into the air.
They spell this love without an aim
While we have kept it like a prayer.

They sucked the flavor out of it
And killed this love with no regret.
That's why we never even greet;
They mustn't know we won't forget.

Well written and very true. Peers can do so much damage to love.

Stay well and keep writing.

Anna,

I remember going through something like this. The word was out that we were too young and it would never last. On January 28th my wife and I celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. What seems right can never be wrong. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.

These verses ring so true that I feel as though you've written about me, Anna. Thank you for sharing this poignant offering. Love and best wishes,

Regis

On the Edge of Words by Debra Kraft

Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
