Mirrors Don’t Lie


When my eyes behold the intensity of your expression
I know exactly what it is I see
your heated energy & depth of Emotion
Is a mirror reflecting the other side of me

Once we could have been twins —Identical!
Our thoughts, Behaviors - State of Mind
Our personalities were remarkably similar
That side of me... long ago left behind

Like you... I was Never able to grasp
the Good in me - - I did see!
I seized only that which seemed bad
But that’s History~ cuz now I’m free

Mirrors are incredibly detailed & scary
echoing reflections of Everything they see
painstakingly honest -- provoking instiable guilt
if you dont trust your eyes ~ Just Ask Me!

But don’t cling to fear & hopelessness
by saying you’ll never change & good night
don’t be persuaded by pessimistic spectators
who have never fought this fight!

For if in the mirror image of your eyes
I clearly see the Old Me!
Look deep into mine & see yourself
Identify with the new you... in me... You see!
