To often~
in an effort to save time
save energy
and save words...

We construct empty sentences~
speak in phrases
crowd our paragraphs
and listen half-heartedly

We hasten our pace ~
evade serious issues
put things off
while we plan for tomorrow

We’re driven to manage our time
eat on the run
kill a hundred birds with on stone
because every second counts

INCIDENTLY...

The most significant tasks take very little time ~
utilizes minimal amounts of energy
take so few words
but speak volumes

For instance...

Even I have a tendency towards expediency ~
I rush
I evade
I put off!

I plan years ahead
run in circles
organize my calendar
then rush off to the wrong appointment

Even now I don’t have much time to waste~
so pay attention
I'll make this fast
say it only once
...and be on my way
