Beach Days

These are memories from days we spent at the beach with out children.

Poem Artwork

Our three children love the beach. We camped, in a tent, when my oldest two were small. I never will forget my husband helping our daughter learn to ride her bike. He took the training wheels off, while we were camping at Ocean Lakes. The two oldest pedaled their bikes constantly.

My husband and I could sit down and watch them, as they rode back and forth down the paved street. Across the street was a swing for all threeof them to enjoy. Baby buckets for our youngest child and swings for the older two.

Shuffle board, putt-putt and the pool were all together on the next street. They all three enjoyed riding their Boogie boards for hours on end. The waves brought them in and then they ran back out, in the ocean,to ride the waves again.

Our daughter loved to build sand castles on the beach. We sat for hours, and used our shovels and pales, to build the fortess.

The highlight was watching them look for sharks teeth. They would dig down into sand to find the black tooth to save.

Randall and Shandall's blonde hair brightened. Then, in the fall, their hair would turn light brown again.

I had grand beach days in my youth growing up too. Only once a year, but appreciative of my parents for getting me there and letting me sit at edge of the waves and walking the boardwalk at night and enjoying that invigorating sea air.
