The Making Of Golden Gumbo
So many tears you've cried
Covered yourself in water
Tried to drown yourself
This world's pain
Was trying to kill you
Close your eyes
Spirit opened wide
Prayed saying Lord save you
He said my child
You’re in my pot
You’re not ready to come out
I'm still adding life to you
So your wisdom will boil
Turned the fire up high
Adding more ingredients
Just a little more spice
Your life will be so full of flavor
Hold on as I turn down the fire
Let you simmer a little while longer
This can't be just any pot of Gumbo
Now you’re ready for the taste of life
I will call you
"Golden Gumbo"
Touched by my Light

This is a good metaphor, the idea of Gumbo really makes the reader get caught up in the senses of it. Excellent.

Quite differnt than how Adam was created but if the stew was made by Him it had to be perfect. Bless You Always, Paul.

This one has has a spiritual sizzle that satisfies the senses--all seven of them! But I'll bet there's more to come after this concoction crescendoes beyond a bubbling boil.... nice work, Wenda. And an interesting name you've got.
