I'm not really Eeyore, always down, i just really enjoy sad, angst ridden poetry...it just seems to come more natural to me....so maybe i am...Eeyore that is...
I gave and gave and you
You always took
Whatever I had to give
You took it without a thought
If it was a warm meal, you ate
If it was comfort, you sighed
And settled yourself in for the ride
You take so well
I almost thought it was I
Who was on the receiving end
We had sex
Like no sex I had ever known before
Were you giving then, or taking
It didn’t matter, we both were happy
We had fun, laughing like children
No inequity there, we both played the game
But when it came time to care
When I needed love in return
You had taken all you cared to take
And you left me with my arms open
And my heart empty and broken
And even then you took
My happiness, my dreams, my hopes
You took them somewhere
Wherever it was that you went
You took…..my love
And never gave me yours

Profundity, thy cup is full. A very well-written and searching, angst-ridden poem just like you said.
This hurts! Excellent poem! Stick with what you feel best Sue, what comes form inside is what makes it great! funny how they can take and keep taking, but never admit, nor think they took. Then assume no fault at all when they just leave like it never happened.
Enjoy twists and surprising turns in this erotic collection of sexy love stories based on seven classic fairy tales. There are romantic interludes to touch your heart and plenty of scorching sex to warm your coldest nights.
Take care.
