You tell yourself you are far too busy
No time for chatting anymore you say
Not that you don’t miss him
But there is only so much time in the day
But all the while, you know you’re lying
It doesn’t have anything to do with time
You’re gone because it scares you
How close you can become on-line
How much of your day begins to circle
Around that time that you talk to him
The things you say go through your mind
And you wonder where your sanity has gone
This isn’t real you tell yourself
Not a person I can really touch
But touched you are by his every word
Until your feelings become too much
And you live for words on a screen each day
And hug them to you in bed at night
So in fear of how much it means
And whether what you’re doing is right
You hide away and pretend you’re busy
Though both of you know it isn’t so
And you think you can just forget him
Though how to do that you just don’t know

well Sue, I read two before one..so let me see if I can get this straight in my mind long enough to comment.
Been there and done this..you are right..you begin to live for the words on the screen. Then you get scared because you realize that not only is the words being written by a real person..they wake things in you that you had thought died long ago. Both parts of this is so real...too real...well that is for many of us out here anyway. Lisa

This is a great write about Internet relationships. As in life, these too are part of us taking a chance. Sometimes it is a blessing and sometimes a horror. Just like the real life dating, one must be careful. Many say it is easier to fool someone when you cannot see their face. Untrue. I have known a man that can fool you while staring directly in your eyes. If it feels right, take a chance, just be careful and make the first many meetings, public and with other friends.

You got into the head of this romantic lady and psyched her out exactly. Excellent!

Sue, this is a very poignant and timely message.
Behind The Keys
And, BTW, I know who you *really* are...
hiding inside your hollow shell
Every day without your words,
To me... is a living hell.

Behind these keystrokes that I send
Is more than meets the eye
My love for you will never end --
Until the day I die.

Sue, you are a member of an exclusive on line club. If you have a big heart and needs that are not fulfilled in your daily life like me, it can happen over and over and over and over; until you finally decide to pull it in. Yes on line love can hurt very deeply and wreck many lifes. But it can become reality in our daily lifes (for the good or the bad) ... I understand and I know many others can comment on this also, (because they have had the same type experience). Bill
