but war
no taxes for my
grandmother’s medicine
nothing for her social
insecurity
no taxes for Medicare
or Medicaid
and drug suppliers get rich.

no mandate
for these changes,
just greed.
like the Mafia,
the rich know where
our money is,
and they’ll take
each penny,
privatizing pensions,
puncturing our dreams.

but putrid policies
can be blasted,
just hit ‘em
where they hurt,
their solar plexus
gutted, they’ll
listen to our
boycott.

don’t spend a penny,
on their blasted schemes:
give up your
new car,
new toy,
new TV.
sit back and see,
don’t buy anything.
this year.
