the supply is unlimited, names
dripping saliva, each one braying
at awards, wanting plaques and trophies.
some turn to dance, others
form roundelays, posing
near the cameras.
one more close-up is
demanded, and all
would fawn for fame.
let us praise these
hatchet egos, in love
with today, but smelling
tomorrow, when their
photos will bring them
joy, and impatience, eagerness
for much more ego-tripping.
