This is the first year since my first cousin Joe-Joe's death.
The hole is still in our hearts,
because we all love deeply!
A Christmas without Joe-Joe,
is like and eagle having no wings.
The only way we get by without you, Joe,
is comfort only God can bring!
How do we mourn the soldier,
husband, prophet, priest and king?
Joe welcomed his home coming,
and bowed before the Lord God supreme!
He won that battle over alcohol,
went to college obtained his,
masters degree.
Worked as drug abuse clinician,
at the Veterans Hospital,
while Joe with God set many,
others veterans free!
Astute, intelligent, witty and resourceful
Joe-Joe loved his wife Joann,
family and his loving God.
Those are heavy shoes to fill on earth,
where Joe and the saints have trod!
He will meet Martin, Malcolm, and Rosa,
O' our brother won' be alone,
Joe will be in the elitist company,
praising God around His throne.
This is so wonderful, a tribute to such a special man. Thanks for telling so much about Joe-Joe in this poem. "elitist company" is a great way of expressing the companionship of the saints in heaven.

Joe sounds like such a dynamic guy, who saw his life's work helping others from their myriad of problems. This is a stunning real-life tribute to Joe-Joe . . .
