A tribute to soldiers that gave all, their lives, so we in America could live!
I pledge allegiance to,
our flag,red, white and blue!
keep our flag flying high,
Old Glory's honor,
let God's praises be allelu-ia!
In memory of all those who died,
in all wars all over the world!
Especially in America.
for those who died for me.
Black or white it doesn't matter,
they died to keep us free!
And those who were willing,
to give their life for me.
including my life to give,
American to keep you free!
I thank you for your sacrifices,
I salute you God bless you.
May God's face shine upon all those,
who serve him first!
Serving their families and country.
I thank each and everyone of you,
God bless you and Gold bless,
these United States of America,
and all who serve her righteously!
5 of the guys I went to High School with died overseas. "Black or white it doesn't matter," (or any other color) I agree. Thanks for sharing. Peace... r
THANK YOU, MICHAEL, FOR THIS MEMORIAL DAY SHARING. FOR THOSE OF US WHO TRULY APPRECIATE THE SACRIFICE OF THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO SERVE THIS COUNTRY IN THE ARMED FORCES, WE APPRECIATE YOUR WORDS THAT REMIND US OF THE GREAT PRICE PAID IN RESPONSE TO, 'CALL OF DUTY'. THOUGH THERE ARE MANY 'PERSONAL-GAIN' EFFORTS WHICH INDEED STAINS THE TRUE REASON BEHIND THIS DAY OF RECOGNITION ...STILL...THE BLOOD THAT WAS SHED FOR AMERICA IS REMEMBERED AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
It's been a long time since I wrote a Memorial Day poem or attended or watched any of the many services around the country attended by ever older people every year.
Commercialism has crept in making pastimes and family get-togethers much more important than honoring the soldiers we remember who lost their lives. There are now so few soldiers and so few of us who know any of them, that it seems a stretch for us to honor those who now go to war for money rather than to save United States of America or the world.
Note: Since my husband's cancer surgery 4/25/05, this book content has been integrated into the public speaking content for audiences interested in a sassy approach to personal and/or community awareness events. Another chapbook on intimate love poet
