Morning light brings to mind
When we were one once upon a time
Ravishing you were, beauty abound
My love for you simply profound
We walked the beach in morning light
Hand in hand squeezing you tight

Sand dollars beckoned our toes below
At the water’s edge where the tide did flow
Laughter and giggles I remember so well
As the surf pounded and the waves swelled
Cast your net with me for a while
Let me take in your wonderful smile

Orange hues hover over the water
As you give a sand dollar to our daughter
Golden curls caress a natural smile
For two precious souls who must stay a while
We return to our cottage high on the hill
Three people cavort and relish the thrill

But darkness falls and steals our light
Stars descend as day turns to night
Nestled in bed with two beautiful girls
Between my daughter and the mother of pearls
Content to hear the waves crashing below
Sleep overcomes as we lay on our pillow

Twilight appears as we begin to dream
Of our day together peaceful and serene
Three bodies transported to places unknown
Before the morning light brings us back home
I shall cherish these thoughts of long past
When morning light would forever last
