Fragmented thoughts spin like a top
Leaving me attuned to what is not
Your shadow follows me everywhere
I can only escape to nowhere
Touch no longer sensates my being
If I only trusted that seeing is believing
Mental strain pervades my head
Words limit what is not said
Alone I climb a mountain of tears
Left behind for all these years
Safety never leaves my side
I wonder if I’m dead or alive
My skin crawls like a rat on a rope
Thoughts escape and rise like smoke
Lightly tethered to a place called earth
Waiting patiently for my rebirth
Remove the cobwebs from my brain
If not, I shall remain insane
Why pretend that you understand me?
Cast out this demon that shouts with glee
Return me to a place once known
Where I was young and not yet grown
Memories fade like the setting sun
Leaving behind a mind now stunned
